  • 1

    Order confirmation and contract signing

→ South American dealer/customer submits order

→ BYD confirms order details (model, quantity, configuration, etc.)

→ Signing international trade contract (Incoterms terms are clear, such as FOB, CIF, etc.)

    2

    Production and QC

→ BYD factory produces vehicles according to order

→ Completion of pre-factory quality inspection (in compliance with Chinese and South American standards)

→ Vehicle VIN registration and export document preparation

    3

Export Customs Clearance and Documentation Preparation

    → Preparation of export documents:

    - Commercial Invoice

    - Packing List

    - Certificate of Origin (COO, may need to be certified by CCPIT)

    - Certificate of Conformity (COC)

    - Bill of Lading (B/L)

    - Insurance policy (if CIF terms)

→ Declare the export to China Customs and complete the customs declaration procedures

    4

    International Transportation (mainly by sea)

→ Reservation of container or Ro-Ro Ship (Ro-Ro Ship)

→ Vehicle transportation to Chinese ports (e.g. Shanghai port, Shenzhen port)

→ Load the ship and issue the bill of lading for sea transportation

→ Sea transportation to major ports in South America (e.g. Port of San Antonio, Chile, Port of Santos, Brazil, Port of Callao, Peru, etc.)

    5

Customs clearance at the destination port

→ South American importer/agent submits customs clearance documents:

    - Bill of Lading (exchange of bills of lading)

    - Import license (required by some countries)

    - Local certification documents (such as Brazil INMETRO certification, Chile 3CV certification, etc.)

→ Payment of customs duties, value-added tax (tax rates vary by South American countries, such as Brazil, about 35%)

→ Customs inspection (may involve environmental protection, safety standards testing)

    6

    Inland transportation and delivery

→ Vehicle transfer to dealer's warehouse after customs clearance

→ Local logistics distribution (land transportation or railroad)

→ Final delivery to customers or 4S stores

  • Why Villeneuve

    Beyond Transportation: Engineering Logistics Performance

We don’t just move boxes; we engineer flows. Our approach combines operations research, digital technology, and deep industry knowledge to solve the most complex logistics puzzles.

    • Data-Driven Decisions: We rely on advanced analytics, not gut feel, to design your network.
    • Technology Agnostic: We recommend the best tech solutions (WMS, TMS) for your needs, not because we sell them.
    • End-to-End Perspective: We optimize the whole chain, not just isolated silos.
    • Sustainability Focus: We help you reduce carbon emissions while cutting costs through green logistics initiatives.
